A couple of weeks ago I had a dilemma: I ran out of my sample of Urban Decay’s Supercurl Mascara. We had a good run, Supercurl and I, but free-sample-with-purchase mascara can only last so many months. The question was whether to spring for the $20 mascara I loved, or gamble $10 on drugstore brand mascara that could be a total flop.
Since the idea of spending $20 on mascara makes my soul hurt, I came to the potentially brilliant solution of buying a new, cheap(er) mascara and using my UD Supercurl brush with it. So, I went to Ulta and grabbed Covergirl’s Clump Crusher Mascara, because:
(1) It had a cap that could seal the mascara without using the new brush
(2) The brush had a curved shape that was actually quite similar to the Urban Decay product I was desperately trying to hang onto
(3) It was only $7.99
I used the old brush with the new solution for a few days, but I ended up trying out Covergirl’s Clump Crusher mascara and was thrilled with the result.
My eyelashes are already dark and fairly thick, but the curl the brush gave my lashes made me look more awake and is the perfect way to finish off my eye make-up. And if I also use my eyelash curler then the lash effect is even more impressive.
I’ve tried numerous department-store brand mascaras and Urban Decay’s Supercurl is the only one that has wowed me like Clump Crusher does. And comparing $7.99 to $20? The choice is easy.
WHAT IS THE BEST MASCARA YOU’VE EVER TRIED?
